Race 1 – MKR Yellow Battles to P2 The endurance weekend kicked off early for MKR Yellow, with the team taking on the 7 AM slot of the 6 Hours of Spa. Qualifying saw them secure P4 in the competitive LMP2 class, setting the stage for a long and grueling battle ahead. As the race unfolded, the trio faced their share of scruffles and incidents, but their resilience never wavered. Staying focused and committed, they steadily climbed through the field. By the closing stages, they were within striking distance of the lead, relentlessly closing the gap to P1. However, time was not on their side—despite their best efforts, they ran out of laps before making the final challenge. MKR Yellow crossed the line in P2, a hard-fought and well-earned result that showcased their determination and consistency. Thanks again to @Steve Derrick @BigMike1989 @Finn Harrison
Race 2 – MKR Main Team's Dramatic Victory The 6 PM slot brought another opportunity, this time for the MKR Main Team. However, the session began with tension as Kiwi struggled in qualifying, making an early mistake on his first lap. That left everything riding on his final attempt, and under pressure, he delivered a 2:05.07, securing P3 on the grid—
keeping the team in the fight. The opening stint was solid, but small errors crept in, with a couple of minor spins and mishaps dropping the team down the order. Despite the setbacks, the team never gave up. A strategic pit cycle worked in their favor, allowing them to jump multiple cars and emerge in P1 as the race entered its critical final phase. Then came a moment of disaster—a rookie mistake saw the team miscalculate their fuel strategy, forcing them to coast as much of the lap as possible to limp back to the pits. The miscue cost them 50 seconds, dropping them back to P3 with just an hour to go. What followed was nothing short of extraordinary. Against all odds, the team dug deep, extracting every bit of pace from the car. Lap after lap, they clawed back the deficit, pushing to the absolute limit. In the final moments of the race, MKR Main Team completed the comeback, reclaiming P1 and taking the checkered flag—securing their first-ever LMP2 class victory as a team. A weekend filled with ups and downs, but one that ended with MKR Racing celebrating a podium and a historic win. The journey continues, and this is only the beginning.
